• He has expertise in Liver Transplantation, Hepatology and Therapeutic ERCP and has been trained in Transplant Hepatology at Montreal, Canada in 2005. 
• He has won several awards, including Plenary Oral presentation award by IASL (International Association of Study of Liver) in 2004; Plenary Oral presentation award by APASL (Asia Pacific Society for Study of Liver) in 2011 & 2004; Plenary Oral presentation award by Indian Society of Gastroenterology in 2012 and Young Investigator Award by International Liver Transplant Society in 2013.
• Dr. Wadhawan has more than 50 publications in indexed journals, including 5 book chapters.
